Carine Tardieu’s film, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, explores the challenges of modern family structures with plenty of insight, sensitivity, and human compassion. The plot focuses on three characters: A young single father striving to find the strength to love; a feminist librarian, single by choice, who has decided not to become a mother; and a six-year-old child seeking a place in a new family structure. Through their aspirations, fears, and choices, the director portrays the diverse ways in which people create and define a family. Among the excellent cast, the beloved Valeria Bruni Tedeschi stands out.
