Movie screenings under the stars for evacuated residents from the South and the North, Arava residents and film goers from across the country

We welcome you back this year, along with veteran residents from the area and the many families who were evacuated from their homes, to join us for screenings of quality movies from all over the world.

During these difficult and complex times, we will attempt to offer moments of conscious escape from reality into the realms of the imagination and of cinematic creation.

Under the desert sky, the moon and the stars, we will sail to distant worlds and enable respite and support in the daily routine of Israel’s home front, the very core of our existence.

Residents evacuated from their homes in the South and the North are invited to attend the screenings free of charge.

The Central Arava region has been declared a “green” zone in the last few weeks, maintaining a normal life routine. Therefore, the Home Front Command approved the cinematic event to take place, under the proper safety guidelines, of course.

The event administrative staff said: “During these difficult and complex times, the goal is to create a meetup place of unity, refuge and hope, to give the audience a chance to disconnect for a few hours from everything that is happening around them and enable the art of cinema to speak. We cannot offer adequate consolation for those who were hurt or uprooted from their homes, but we can offer a home that is not just a roof over their heads, but a community life that among other things, encourages artistic creation and inspiration. During the cinematic event, as is during its preparation and every single day since the war began, our hearts are with the bereaved families and the families whose loved ones were kidnapped. We will not forget or stop thinking about our children, brothers and sisters held hostage, our hearts are with them, and we join in the urgent call to take any action necessary for their safe return home.”
