Words of Love

France 2026 | 95 minutes | French | Hebrew and English subtitles

For the past 14 years, Erika has been single-handedly navigating her lively family: her teenage daughter Abigaëlle, young Yoni, and a dog with an addiction to cheese. She struggles with her daughter’s determination to find the father she has never known, and when word comes that he may be nearby, Erika fears that the fragile balance she has built could begin to unravel. But the search takes mother and daughter on an unexpected journey, forcing them to confront the past and reconsider the bonds that hold their family together. The wonderful Hafsia Herzi stars in a family drama about our longing for what is missing and the love that can sometimes be right under our noses. Director Rudi Rosenberg takes a perceptive look at family in its many forms, and at the complex yet enduring bonds between parents and children. The film premiered in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival.
