Mary Poppins

London, the beginning of the 20th century. A new nanny arrives at the Banks household, floating down from the sky with an umbrella and bringing a world of magic and adventure into the lives of Jane and Michael. Together with her multi-talented friend Bert, she takes the children on journeys where they can leap into paintings, float through the air, and turn everyday life into a celebration of imagination and mischief. Along the way, almost without anyone noticing, she transforms the entire Banks family. Based on the books by P. L. Travers, Disney’s beloved classic has won five Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Julie Andrews in her screen debut, and gave the world some of Disney’s most unforgettable songs. More than sixty years later, its blend of music, humour, imagination and visual invention remains as enchanting as ever.
