Joachim Trier reunites with Renate Reinsve (The Worst Person in the World) for an emotionally stirring drama that premiered in Cannes and won the Grand Prix. After the death of her mother, Nora is confronted with the return of her father Gustav (Stellan Skarsgård), a renowned film director, who brings with him a proposition: he wants her to play the lead role in a new autobiographical project. Nora refuses, and the role is handed to a promising American actress (Elle Fanning), altering the course of the film. Between the absence of her beloved mother, the reappearance of her father, and the unfolding production, Nora and her sister navigate a labyrinth of conflicting emotions and the desire to open a new chapter in their lives.
