Paul decides to abandon a well-established career as a photographer to pursue writing. His wife left him and their children moved with her to a distant country. His decision sets him on a grueling journey of temporary jobs and financial uncertainty, marked by loneliness and strained relations with family and friends. French director Valérie Donzelli portrays with great skill the price of total devotion to art and the constant struggle between following one’s heart and surviving in today’s material world. The sharp screenplay earned her the Silver Lion at the Venice Film Festival.
