USA 1980 | 123 min. | English | Hebrew subtitles
Gloria is a blonde from the Bronx who was once the lover of a mafia boss. The fiery woman takes in the young boy next door just moments before his parents fall victim to a gangster’s revenge. Together, they flee from both the mafia and the police. From that point on, she fiercely protects the youngster. She curses, punches when needed, pulls out a gun, and doesn’t hesitate to use it. Gloria is one of the standout films by esteemed American filmmaker John Cassavetes, known for works such as A Woman Under the Influence and Husbands. And no one leaves the film without falling in love with Gena Rowlands — the legendary actress who passed away earlier this year at the age of 84.
