Marina, an Israeli lawyer who has long denied her Georgian roots, returns to her homeland to bring back an eleven-year-old boy abandoned by his mother years earlier. In a remote, snow-covered village, she meets Dato, the boy’s uncle, who has cared for him since infancy. Despite his resentment, he agrees to help her, and their uneasy journey gradually softens the walls between them. Eti Tsiko’s powerful debut brings a moving story of reckoning and rediscovery, where the search for a lost child becomes a search for identity and belonging.
Nandauri won the First Feature Award and the Cinematography Award at the Jerusalem Film Festival, as well as five Ophir Awards: Cinematography (Shai Goldman), Best Actress (Neta Riskin), Makeup, Costume Design and Directing.
