During a long summer’s day, the life of twenty-something arts student Una turn completely upside down. Reykjavík has awakened to news of a terrible road accident, with Una’s boyfriend Diddi likely among the injured. But because of a secret she has been keeping from her friends, Una finds herself unable to express her true feelings. The new film from acclaimed Icelandic filmmaker Rúnar Rúnarsson (Volcano, Echo), When the Light Breaks, was the Opening Film of Un Certain Regard in Cannes this year. It is an original exploration of grief, inspired by the filmmaker’s own loss.
